Live weather and 80 years of history on a map
Live conditions for tens of thousands of cities, with day and night drawn as they move across the globe.
Drag the dock at the bottom to any day since 1940 and the whole map follows: pills, clocks, and the sun.
Open a city, then its year calendar: average highs and lows, rain, snow and daylight for every week.
Pick any date in the calendar to see how it played out in every year on record.
Weather data is stored in metric and shown in the units you pick in Settings. Pinned cities and settings are kept only on this device.

CartoWeather has no accounts, no sign-in and no user profiles. There is nothing to log into, so there is no record of you on our servers to lose, sell or hand over. What the app keeps, it keeps on your own device.
The app centres the map near you. It asks your browser or phone for an approximate location only — never precise GPS — and only while the app is open and only after you tap the locate button. Nothing runs in the background. If you decline, or your device cannot answer, the app falls back to an approximate location derived from your IP address by our own server. Either way the result is used to pick a point on the map and to choose the nearest cities, it is cached on your device for 24 hours, and it is not attached to any identity or shared with anyone.

Clearing your browser’s site data, or uninstalling the app, removes all of it. None of it is sent to us.
Map tiles are fetched through cartoweather.com, so CARTO sees our server rather than your browser. Your IP address is not forwarded to them.
Anonymous usage measurement (which screens are opened, which features are used) via Google’s gtag.js. No account, name or email is attached, because we hold none.
Weather and climate data is fetched from our own API, which forwards no identifying information about you to the upstream data providers.
CartoWeather is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it. Questions, or a request to remove something, go to privacy@cartoweather.com.
